Longhouse

LonghouseLonghouse is the term we use for a weekend of fun at an area camp. Currently, there are six camps that our Meckcha Federation uses for fall and spring longhouses. Activities vary from camp to camp and include:

  • Group games
  • Hiking
  • Fishing
  • Crafts
  • Archery
  • Riflery
  • Zip lines
  • Challenge courses

Most returning tribe longhouses begin on Friday night and end on Sunday morning. Participants have the option to stay one or two nights. Tribes bunk together in cabins. Each fall there are special one night longhouses for all new tribes at Camp Thunderbird.

All Y-Guides members should plan to attend at least one longhouse with their tribe each year.
