Afterschool Central is your one-stop information center providing all the details you need to help you understand our program’s procedures, policies, schedules and more. We strive to create a hassle-free experience where parents feel secure about their kids in our care. Parent FAQs
  • Please label everything your child is bringing to and from the Y.
  • Please leave all electronics at home. We are not responsible for anything that is lost, stolen or broken during the program.
  • Please send a snack and a refillable water bottle each day with your child. We are not serving snack.

We offer an Afterschool transportation connection service to safely transport students from school to the Y. Your child will be picked up at their registered school and taken to the YMCA daily for either the Afterschool program. Only certain schools have accessibility to transportation services. After you register for the program with the Y, CMS families must complete an alternate stop request form for your child. Alternate Stop Request Form >>

At the Lowe's YMCA, please contact Danielle Crimi if your child will go to another program from afterschool, such as sports or swim. 
 
Supply List
Supply List
Please send your child on the first day with the following:
  • Sharpened pencils
  • Clorox disinfectant wipes
  • Lined paper
  • Baby wipes
  • Plastic forks or spoons
  • Paper plates
 
Schedule
Program start time is at 200 PM when buses leave the Y and ends at 6:00 PM. Car line will begin at 4:30 PM and end at 6:00 PM. If you pick up before 4:30 PM, you must come in and sign your child out. 
  • Buses arrive back between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM depending on the school or district.
  • If child is here prior to 3:30 PM, they will have time to play while waiting for other schools to begin homework.
  • Homework will begin at 3:30 PM and around 4:00 PM/4:15 PM or when child is done with homework and reading, electives will begin.
  • Electives are like clubs that are changed every two weeks. The children enjoy electives because they can develop a new skill. Examples of electives are crafts, fitness, dodgeball, soccer, swimming, etc. They will have a choice every two weeks, but they develop a new skill over those two weeks.
  • These electives also rotate with the weather changes through the fall, winter and spring, as well as sports and other programming going on in the branch.
  • Pick up begins at 4:30 PMand ends at 6:00 PM. You must walk in to pick up prior to 4:30 PM, but someone will come to you in the car after 4:30 PM.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
  • If ISS is closed on first inclement weather day, we are closed for all schools. This means that the roads are not safe for buses, so we wouldn’t run ours either.
  • If ISS is closed for a second day or more days, we will operate as an out of school day, as long as we can safely. You would hear about this the morning of from the Family Services Director. Pick up of Charter schools would be possible, if roads are deemed safe. This would also be communicated by the Family Services Director day of.
  • If ISS has a delay, we will run on normal schedule.
  • If ISS makes up a day of inclement weather with one of our out of school days or holiday camp, we will refund those that have  paid in advance. We will not run the day if ISS is in school.

If any information from a newsletter is to be sent out, it will be sent out via car line or communicated through rides out. 
 
Add Ons

***Starting for school year 2018 - 2019, all out of school days, will no longer be included and will need to be registered for everyone, including current participants. $15 for members per day per child, $25 for non-members per day per child.

Holiday Camp also needs to be registered for via online or through the front desk for members and non-members. $15 for members per day per child, $25 for non-members per day per child.
 
Still included in program tuition:
  • Early release extended days
  • Early inclement weather pick up, pending safety of staff and buses. 
 
Pick Up 
If utilizing the tablet, and pictures of parents or pick ups are available, we will not need ID. If pictures are not showing, but names are, we will need ID. These need to be updated as they change in Personify either at the front desk or online.
If utilizing paper rosters, everyone will need to show an ID and be on the pick up list. 
 
Payment
Payment Procedures
$15.75 a day for members, $19 a day for non-members.

This will then turn to a monthly draft that will draft out of an account on the 15th of the month. A 15 day cancellation policy is in effect for all cancellations or changes. 

PROGRAM ADJUSTMENT RATE
As part of our My Y Pricing rate structure, an adjusted program rate is available to all who qualify. Both Members and Program Participants must provide income verification at the Sales & Service Center in order to receive an adjusted program rate. All program rate adjustments are subject to branch specific, program-specific caps. Standard rates are set by each individual branch.
