Afterschool Central is your one-stop information center providing all the details you need to help you understand our program’s procedures, policies, schedules and more. We strive to create a hassle-free experience where parents feel secure about their kids in our care. TRANSPORTATION
UCPS Transportation Connection
The Brace Family YMCA offers transportation from all Union County and Charter/Private schools that we currently service. 

CMS Transportation Connection
We offer a connection service to safely transition school-age program participants from school to the YMCA and, at select locations, from one Y program to another. After registration is complete with the YMCA, all CMS school students must complete an Alternate Stop Request Form >>
 
Supply List
SUPPLY LIST
If your child has a water bottle and comfortable clothing, we encourage them to bring those to this program. Apart from that, they would need to bring everything that a child wishes to take home that they brought from school.  Including, but not limited to a book bag, homework, appropriate materials needed to complete homework.

2:30 PM - 6:30 PM | August 26, 2019 – June 12, 2020 

HOLIDAYS AND WORKDAYS
  • YMCA Afterschool is closed on:
    • 9/2, 11/27-29, 12/24-26, 1/1, 5/25.
  • All School Out of School Days:
    • 10/9, 11/11, 12/23, 12/27, 12/30-1/3, 1/20, 2/17, 4/9-10, 4/13-17
  • School specific Out of School Days:
    • CMS: 10/28, 11/5, 1/24, 3/27
    • UCPS: 1/21, 3/20
* The YMCA is open from 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM on all planned Out of School Days at the Hemby Program Center only.
** The cost for all out of school days is $40 for members and $55 for program participants and no additional fees will be charged for full day field trips. 
***Please note that the program fees will not include Out of School Days, Holiday Camp, or Spring Break Camp as all these require a separate registration.
  
Food
FOOD / SNACK INFO
The Brace Family YMCA Afterschool program provides one snack every day. If you would like your child to have additional food, please send the food with them. The Brace Family YMCA follows our healthy eating guidelines, and offers foods such as fruit, dairy, and other healthy alternatives. If your child has any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please indicate that on the registration forms.

Pick Up 
For the safety of your child, participants will only be released to the guardian or responsible adult(s) listed on the child’s registration form.Every person picking up a child must present a photo I.D.

In the event that a child is to be picked up from someone not listed on the registration form, a parent email must be sent to inform the afterschool program and that person must have their I.D.
 
Payment
PAYMENT PROCEDURES
REGISTRATION
Afterschool registrations are processed on a first-come, first served basis:
  • YMCA Member Registration begins April 1, 2019
  • Program Participant Registration begins April 15, 2019

REGISTRATION FEES
  • YMCA Member Registration Fee: $25
  • Program Participant Fee: $50
PROGRAM RATES
We have three payment options for your convenience. Please choose your payment option by downloading and completing the Brace Family Afterschool Payment Form.

Rates are based on CMS and Union County School Calendars. You can pay by automatic bank draft or credit card draft. Payments are due on the 15th of every month. A payment plan can be worked out with our registrar, Teishana Brooks who can be reach at 704 716 4208 or teishana.brooks@ymcacharlotte.org.

Kindergarten - 5th Grade Weekly Rates
  • YMCA Member — 3 days at $18 per day / 5 days at $14.50 per day
  • Program Participant — 3 days at $21 per day / 5 days at $18.50 per day
Middle School Weekly Rates
  • YMCA Member — 3 days at $11.25 per day / 5 days at $8.75 per day
  • Program Participant — 3 days at $15 per day / 5 days at $12.50 per day
MY Y PRICING
As part of our My Y Pricing rate structure, an Adjusted Program Rate is available to all who qualify. Both Members and Program Participants must provide income verification at the Sales and Service Desk in order to receive an adjusted program rate.

Note: All program rate adjustments are subject to branch specific, program-specific caps. Standard rates are set by each individual branch.
