Caring For Our Children - Rebuilding Connections at Camp
OFFERING A GLIMPSE OF HOPE AND NORMALCY
With classrooms, activities and friendships upended by COVID-19, young people of all ages and backgrounds are struggling with a world turned upside down. Families everywhere are isolating from loved ones, adjusting to online learning and erasing meaningful events from their calendars. Parents and children both need stability and the chance to unwind in the midst of ongoing uncertainty. Summer has the opportunity to offer a glimpse of hope and normalcy.
Filling Gaps With Summer Camp
Camp is more crucial than ever this summer, providing essential childcare as parents return to work and a structured outlet for children to reconnect with friends and mentors and regain lost learning opportunities. Our Y is uniquely positioned to deliver summer experiences that help kids feel like kids again while also enriching our day and overnight camps with deeper academic support – integrated S.T.E.A.M. activities, enhanced literacy infusion, and increased access to specialized tutors and behavioral health experts – to help prevent summer slide and slowdown.
Help Make Camp Possible
We need your support to ensure every child has access to day and overnight camp this summer. With your help, we can offer families even greater financial assistance, especially those facing financial challenges due to job loss and the economic impact of COVID-19.
