Parkinson's at the YMCA
SUPPORTING THOSE WITH PARKINSON'S
Parkinson’s at the YMCA is an eight-week program for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. The goal is to improve their quality of life by promoting a culture of active lifestyle to maintain or increase independence, safety, and well-being. Our Wellness Trainer will work to develop exercise strategies that focus on improving strength, balance, flexibility, and cardio status.
Eight-week Session Includes:
- Pre- and post-assessment with Wellness Trainer
- Three 45-minute personal training sessions
- Full Use of Facility
Who Can Participate/Cost:
- Anyone who identifies as living with Parkinson’s Disease
- Member & Non-Member: $150
Additionally, Exercise for Neuromuscular Disorders (group exercise class for members) and a support group (free and open to the public facilitated by the Parkinson’s Association of the Carolinas) are available.

• Brace Family YMCA
- Exercise for Neuromuscular Disorders – Mondays/Wednesdays at 2:15pm
- Support Group – 2nd Monday at 2:15 pm
• Harris YMCA
- Exercise for Neuromuscular Disorders – Tuesdays/Thursdays at 2:30pm
- Support Group – 1st Thursday at 6:00 pm
• Lowe’s YMCA
- Exercise for Neuromuscular Disorders – Tuesdays/Thursdays at 1:00pm
- Support Group – 2nd Tuesday at 2:00 pm
• Sally’s YMCA
- Support Group – 2nd Tuesday at 2:30 pm
