<p><strong>Drawing and Painting</strong></p><p>Beginning with the basics of line and shape and moving into form, value, texture, and scale, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of painting through basic techniques while using a variety of mediums, including watercolors and acrylics. Mediums, styles, and techniques change each session!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Ceramics</strong></p><p>Be prepared to get messy in this class focused solely on working with clay and making fun and functional ceramics projects. These projects are constantly updated and re-imagined, so they’ll always be fresh, unique, and engaging experiences! Each session explores hand building, slab work, and wheel throwing with new projects.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Paint Your Own Pottery (MO)</strong></p><p>Join us for some fun by painting a piece of pottery to create a unique masterpiece! A professional artist is on-site to guide and assist. Pieces are fired in the kiln and ready for pick up within two weeks. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Pricing includes a large piece or two smaller pieces. Individual pieces are available for sale additionally by emailing ballantyneartscenter@ymcacharlotte.org. Pre-registration is encouraged. Drop in no later than 30 minutes prior to the end time.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Mini Masters</strong></p><p>Experience the excitement of being an artist! This class introduces basic art techniques like collage, drawing, and painting while discovering their artistic voice. Inventive and engaging new themes are continuously explored to create unique works of art in each session that appeal to beginning and returning students. The class is held at the Ballantyne Arts Center, located on the second floor of 11318 N Community House Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277.</p>
