YMCA of Greater Charlotte Announces Sale of Parcel at Lowe’s YMCA Campus to Josh’s Farmers Market

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte today announced the sale of a portion of land on its Lowe’s YMCA campus in Mooresville to Josh’s Farmers Market, a beloved local market that has served Mooresville and surrounding communities for nearly 20 years. This partnership reflects the Y’s continued commitment to serving the community through the strategic optimization of its real estate assets.
Through this collaboration, the Y and Josh’s Farmers Market will enhance and grow the services offered on and around the Lowe’s YMCA campus, furthering the vision of integrated community campuses that bring people together around health, wellbeing and connection. By leveraging mission-aligned partners, the Y is underscoring its commitment to providing accessible, holistic solutions that strengthen the well-being of our neighbors and the surrounding community. These collaborations allow us to amplify our impact and provide even greater support to the surrounding community.
Josh’s Farmer’s Market previously operated on the Lowe’s YMCA campus from 2021 through 2023.
“We are thrilled to welcome Josh’s Farmer’s Market as a mission-aligned neighbor at Lowe’s YMCA campus,” said Sue Glass, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. “This partnership aligns with our mission and our strategy to thoughtfully optimize our real estate assets in ways that bring more value to the communities we serve. Together, we are building an integrated campus that expands access to healthy food for our members, program participants and the broader Mooresville community.”
“Josh’s Farmer’s Market has deep roots in Mooresville, and we’re excited to grow our presence alongside the YMCA,” said Josh Graham, owner of Josh’s Farmers Market. “This location helps us serve more community members with fresh, local produce and goods, while creating a welcoming space where the community can gather. We’re honored to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to health and community well-being.”

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte is committed to seeking partnerships that align with its mission to further enhance and grow services offered across the region. This land sale is part of a broader effort to create integrated community campuses that support health, youth development and social connection. A strong example of this integrated campus vision is the Stratford Richardson YMCA in Charlotte’s West Boulevard corridor, which includes a community clinic and a planned public library site alongside the YMCA center. By co-locating essential services with Y programs, reducing barriers to critical services, strengthening neighborhood connections and creating community hubs.
