Competitive Swim

A PLACE TO BELONG AND GROW

Youth Swim Teams

Kids discover the joy of being part of a team, while striving to reach their personal best.

Swim Teams at the Y are designed for all levels of ability. They’re a great way for elementary-aged kids and teens to make local friends, have fun and enjoy a little bit of friendly competition.

  • Younger swimmers are introduced to the team environment and learn all four competitive strokes
  • More experienced swimmers develop their technique and endurance level
  • All swimmers develop the values of goal-setting, teamwork, good sportsmanship and hard work

Swimmers hone talents and technical skills at a high level in this members-only, year-round competitive swim program. Athletes work on mastering strokes, qualifying times and conditioning during practices, preparing for invitational and regional meets as well as Y Nationals. Competitive swimming requires a greater time commitment than our recreational teams, and offers innumerable health benefits and life lessons including goal setting, mental and physical preparation and achievement. Plus, it’s fun, fulfilling and challenging to train in a team setting with friends and coaches who strive for excellence.
