Technology Resources
Technology must be used during this time to minimize personal contact and promote appropriate social distancing to every extent possible. Communication should happen via email and virtual conferencing through Microsoft Teams.
In-person meetings should be avoided to every extent possible. Use online meeting tools, email, and/or phone calls and conferencing (Teams or Zoom), even when team members are in the same location.
Our IT team has created a guide to assist team members in navigating some of our new tools and technology updates. Please click here to learn more.
Strategy and Structure Update
We have made some changes to our organizational structure and approach to strategy. Click here to see a brief overview of these changes.

Team members enrolled in YRF savings plan:
- Learn more about taking a loan
- Learn more about hardship withdrawal options
- Please note that the Fund's 403(b) Smart Account is not a traditional savings account, but a retirement savings account, so the timing of accessing the funds in this account will be different from a standard savings account at a financial institution.
- An update about mailing checks to YRF
Team members considering retirement:
YOGC has made a temporary adjustment to contributions to the YMCA Retirement Fund. With the pay period beginning after May 29, our Y will temporarily reduce our contribution to the YMCA Retirement Fund from 12% to 1% for all participating team members. The Y’s contribution will remain at 1% until 12/18/20, and will then increase to 8%, effective 12/19/20. Please reach out to Brenda Davis (info below) with any questions.
AmeriFlex Flexible Spending Accounts
Due to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) the IRS has announced eligible changes to the Flexible Spending Benefit plans. Team members currently enrolled in a medical flexible spending account or a dependent flexible spending account for the plan year 01-01-2020 through 09-30-2020 can take advantage of the options listed below on their FSA and DCA Flex accounts.
- FSA Carry-Over
The FSA carryover has been added to your benefit plan with an increased rollover maximum of $550. You will be able to carry over this amount of funds, if used, to the following benefit plan year. This carryover amount is a permanent IRS change.
These changes have already been set up on your plans. To view your plan status, visit the Ameriflex member portal or reach out to the AmeriFlex services team for assistance (888-868-3539; M-F 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. EDT).
Team members enrolled in a Medical Flexible Spending Account or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account through AmeriFlex and who are not currently working are able to temporarily pause their bi-weekly AmeriFlex contributions. In doing so, team members agree that upon returning to work and starting with the first bi-weekly paycheck, team members will resume regular bi-weekly AmeriFlex contributions and will also catch-up all missed contributions.
To request this temporary option, email Brenda.davis@ymcacharlotte.org (704-716-6261) or HRdept@ymcacharlotte.org.

COVID-19 Vaccine Info
COVID-19 vaccines are now available in our communities. Under the CDC’s guidance, each state and county determines the prioritization and coordinates the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. We encourage you to consider receiving the vaccine when it becomes available to you. Anyone who feels they fall into a category that may be eligible for the vaccine (based on to health risks, age, position at work, specific category, etc.) should contact your primary care provider. The vaccine is covered by most insurance providers, including Blue Cross Blue Shield.
