Join the Mission - Become a YMCA Volunteer
STEPPING UP WHEN OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS US MOST
Now more than ever, our community needs us to come together for the greater good. At the Y, we remain committed to providing support and inspiring action in our communities. By mobilizing and connecting volunteers with opportunities to make a difference, we continue to meet critical needs during this time of uncertainty. While our traditional YMCA operations are paused and volunteer opportunities limited, we encourage you to connect with our partner, SHARE Charlotte, to find ways to serve and support the ever-changing needs of our community.
Help Keep First Responders Safe
Eight YMCA locations are collecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) donations in partnership with the Department of Emergency Management and the CharMeck Responds Coalition. You can help by donating N95 filter masks, surgical masks, face shields, safety glasses, goggles, splash suits/coveralls, medical gowns, medical gloves, surface disinfectant and sanitizing wipes. Donations are provided to the Emergency Operations Center for distribution to First Responders (Police, Fire and Medical). Donation drop-off is available Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM, at the following YMCA branches: Dowd YMCA, Harris YMCA, Hemby Program Center, Johnston YMCA, Keith Family YMCA, McCrorey YMCA, Morrison Family YMCA and Simmons YMCA.
