Howard Levine CDC
Due to economic impacts associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Renaissance West Community Initiative (RWCI) made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend operations of the Howard Levine Child Development Center (HLCDC), which is operated by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, effective Sept. 7 through at least the end of the year. RWCI and the YMCA of Greater Charlotte remain committed to providing high-quality early childhood experiences that support families and children in the community. We expect to eventually reopen the HLCDC in a position of strength to serve the Renaissance West community.
Founded in 2018 with a partnership collaboration with Renaissance West Community Initiative, the Howard Levine Child Development Center provides high quality early childhood experiences that support children ages 0-5 in the Renaissance West and Little Rock Communities.
Our school-within-a-school model for Early Head Start focuses on a high quality early childhood experience serving the youngest children (0-3) of our community in partnership with Child Care Resources Incorporated.
A tremendous amount of thought and planning went into the design of our state of art facility. Safe, engaging indoor and outdoor learning spaces are tailored to children’s specific ages and interests, speaking to their developmentally growing desire to explore and learn. Our purposefully engineered classrooms and learning spaces are created to support children’s growth and development, and inspire intellectual curiosity and play. Our outdoor learning environment extends the discovery that occurs inside and helps children learn about nature and the importance of caring for our world.
