The YMCA of Greater Charlotte is committed to reducing the impact of food insecurity. Through programs and partnerships, the Y served thousands of individuals since the start of the pandemic and has no intention of slowing down. 

More than 1.6 million North Carolinians are struggling to put food on the table. Many live in food deserts where there is not reliable access to fresh, healthy food.  

Government funded meals (Child and Adult Care Program & Summer Food Service Program) allow the Y to serve nutritious snacks and meals to many of our afterschool and summer day camp sites in Mecklenburg and Lincoln counties.
