Childress Klein YMCA Volunteer Projects
At the Y, we believe that when people come together for a common cause, the whole community is strengthened. When you become a volunteer, you have the opportunity to share your blessings with those who need it most. Volunteering with the YMCA is powerful because you’re not just joining a mission, you’re joining a community of like minded people who want to make a difference. There are so many exciting and meaningful ways to get involved and volunteer at the Y. Make your footprints count and join us for the 43rd annual Truist Corporate Cup 5K & Half Marathon! Kicking off the YMCA Race Series for 2022, this fundraiser is the YMCA of Greater Charlotte’s largest road race with more than 2,000 runners in 2021. With the community’s support, the race raises funds for the Y’s Annual Campaign, enabling the Y to offer programs and services that nurture the potential of kids and teens, promote healthy living, foster a sense of social responsibility and strengthen the foundations of community. The race starts and finishes at Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte and is perfect for runners and walkers of all levels – beginner to expert – with a 5K and half marathon distance. Celebrate the race with a post-race party at the finish line with music, free food and vendors. Volunteers will assist with this event in a variety of ways, including (but not limited to) registration/packet-pickup, course monitoring, water stops and start/finish line assistance.
