About Wellness

Wellness classes are fun and challenging sessions. These low-intensity exercise classes are specifically designed to provide fundamental educational training on nutrition, exercise, stress and sleep, tracking, accountability, and relationships to our programming for individuals with neuromuscular disorders or recovering from cancer.

Class Preparation

  • New to class? Arrive a little early so your instructor can give you some pointers.
  • Alert your instructor of any injuries so they can provide modification options.
  • Arrive a few minutes before class starts. You’ll feel more relaxed and you'll get a chance to socialize.

This class combines stretching, non/low-impact cardio, muscle strengthening, flexibility and balance training. The focus is on movement as well as fellowship for individuals living with neuromuscular diseases.

This class is designed to build strength, improve flexibility and create community among cancer survivors. This class will be a continuation of the LiveSTRONG program as well as introduce cancer survivors to the LiveSTRONG at the YMCA program.

A life-hack, otherwise known as a “hack”, is not a quick-fix, it is a modified way of looking at things to help you reevaluate how you manage your time and daily activities in a more efficient way.  With our Weight Loss Hacks we’ll teach you new strategies to conquer weight loss and/or improve your healthy lifestyle habits one step at a time!  Weight loss, is not a simple approach of "if I eat healthy I'll loose weight.  It takes a balanced lifestyle approach to achieve your weight loss

The Aerial Adventure Course is designed to be an aerial adventure, available to people of all ages and abilities. It is the goal of the Aerial Adventure Course to inspire people to step out of their perceived comfort zones and live life to the fullest. By negotiating their way through elements of adventure of their own choosing, we hope that when they leave the Adventure Course they will have gained injections of self-esteem and feel proud and satisfied that they have done well.

Another goal of the Adventure Course is to encourage people to try their very best. It does not really matter if they succeed on a particular challenge or not. What matters is that THEY feel they tried their best. That feeling of accomplishment is the major underlying factor of the Aerial Adventure Course!
