Senior classes are fun and challenging sessions. These low-intensity exercise classes are specifically designed to improve overall health with a good workout.

Class Preparation

  • New to class? Arrive a little early so your instructor can give you some pointers.
  • Alert your instructor of any injuries so they can provide modification options.
  • Take it slow. Arrive a few minutes before class starts. You’ll feel more relaxed.

A fun, work at your own pace, low-impact class. This cardio class is a lite exercise. Choreography is minimal to encourage proper body alignment and focus on perceived rate of exertion.

This class is a combination of strength training, basic low impact cardiovascular segments, balance and flexibility.   Specifically designed for those prefer a great workout without the added impact to joints.

This seated aerobics class focuses on gentle, full body movement while increasing the heart rate in a mostly seated position. Simultaneous upper and lower body movements improves coordination as well as strengthens the core.

This low intensity workout combines cardio, strength and flexibility, all modified to a seated position. A perfect exercise class for seniors, those just starting an exercise routine, those with balance issues, those recovering from an injury or surgery or anyone who needs a very low intensity workout.

A total body workout using chairs to sit in as well as a piece of equipment to execute a variety of chair aerobics exercises. Dumbbells, bands, Pilates circles, Glides and playground balls are also used to promote upper and lower body strength as well as balance and posture.

This circuit training group exercise is perfect for older adults, especailly for those 55 and older. This cardio and strength training class will involve a series of exercises performed in rotation with minimal rest, often using different pieces of equipment. Taught at a level appropriate for Seniors, this challenging class will focus on elements important to those over 55 such as bone density loss, muscle strengthening and balance improvement. Improve your fitness without the choreography and coordination of the typical aerobic class!

What is gentle yoga? Gentle yoga focuses on the healing aspects of yoga, focusing on stretching, relaxing the body and calming the mind. Using props like blocks and straps, you will learn useful modifications to help you bridge between moving in flow and being stationary. Time is taken to get into the pose, and then held long enough to feel the alignment and strength of the pose. Breathing exercises will be taught and practiced throughout the class, providing you with stress-reduction techniques. Adaptations are offered for all body types, ages and limitations

This stretch class will teach you proper stretching and relaxation techniques to clear your mind and relax your muscles. Geared toward the senior population and beginner exercisers, this class focuses on increasing flexibility through a variety of postures and poses. In addition, balance exercises are added to allow for a functionally fit life. Although this is a balance class for beginners, please bring your own mat.
