[Charlotte, NC – August 17, 2018] The YMCA of Greater Charlotte and Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, have teamed up for the Lake Norman YMCA Sprint Triathlon presented by Ingersoll Rand.
The Lake Norman YMCA Sprint Triathlon will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Ingersoll Rand US headquarters in Davidson, NC. Ingersoll Rand and the Lake Norman YMCA have a strong partnership that has been in place for decades, making the host site a perfect location for the Sprint Triathlon. Ingersoll Rand’s campus is situated on Lake Norman with tree-lined walking paths allowing for smooth water, safer biking in and out of town, a nice run on the campus and a perfect finish!
“We are excited to build upon our relationship with Ingersoll Rand and host another successful event on their campus.” says Lake Norman YMCA Executive Director, Matt Fitzwater. “Ingersoll Rand has been a dedicated partner of our Y for many years and continues to make a positive impact in the community. We can think of no better partner nor place to host this signature event.”
Proceeds from the Lake Norman YMCA Sprint Triathlon support the Lake Norman YMCA Annual Campaign, enabling important programs to thrive in the community such as the Y’s nationally recognized literacy program, Y Readers, and the efforts to give children and adults the chance to overcome physical disabilities through the Adaptive Water Ski program. In partnership with Atrium’s Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program, the program is the only of its kind in North Carolina. Participants not only learn to ski, but learn to face and overcome their challenges as well. The Ada Jenkins Center will also benefit from proceeds of the event. The Ada Jenkins Center strives to improve the quality of life for the residents of our local communities through the integrated delivery of health, education and human services.
There’s still time to register for the race or sign up to volunteer.
