About Water Fitness

Water Exercise provides motivation, improved cardiovascular endurance and muscle conditioning/tone by using the buoyancy and resistance of the water. Water Exercise is low impact and ideal for all fitness levels, non-swimmers welcome.  Check out our water fitness classes and class schedules!

Held in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation, these classes are designed to increase flexibility and muscle strength, as well as improve coordination, balance, endurance, and the ability to perform activities of daily living.

Low Intensity
Basic Skill

Aqua Tabata is a HITT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout in the water. Participants use maximal effort for 20 seconds and recover for 10 seconds for 8 rounds of work. Suspension and weights may also used in this class. This class is very much a work at your own intensity and is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Fitness is a splash with Aqua Zumba, our invigorating, low-impact aquatic exercise classes. Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba classes blend it all into a workout that's cardio-conditioning, body-toning and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Low Intensity
Basic Skill

Experience a HIIT class like no other.  This high intensity interval training class is on top of the water adding a new dimension.  You will not only train through a high intensity interval class bit also work your stabilizers and train your proprioceptors while getting wet.

High Intensity
Advanced Skill

Experience yoga on an aquaboard floating on top of the water.  Wear a bathing suit under yoga clothing and be prepared to stretch, relax, find all your stabilizers and get wet

Basic Skill

Aquatic Blast is a high intensity workout that moves at a rapid pace and is designed to increase the heart rate. It combines cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength and toning with core abdominal work. Not recommended for beginners or pregnant women.

Great for the tri-athlete or for those who want a non-competitive swimming program. The workouts consist of warm-up, set and cool down. Kickboard, pull buoys and hand paddles can be used.

This class is designed to increase the heart rate and condition the whole body. It combines cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength and core abdominal work utilizing both the shallow and deep end of the pool.

This deep water class is geared to train your cardiovascular system as well as give you a total body workout with no impact. Maximize your potential using a combination of deep water exercises, swim conditioning, pool side strength training, aqua- jogging and fun.

A higher intensity than the Water Cardio Fitness class. This class moves at a rapid pace and is designed to increase the heart rate and condition the whole body. It combines cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength and core abdominal work utilizing the deep end of the pool. Not recommended for beginners or women who are pregnant.

This class is a combination of cardio, stretching, toning, balance, and core for a full body workout!

The next level up from Arthritis Plus. Includes no impact cardio, flexibility, muscle strength and endurance.

In this class the resistance of the water makes the workout feel intense while the water cushions you from the impact. It reduces stress on joints and muscles. This can give you muscle tone and reduces body fat. Good class for all ages and great for runners, cyclists, injuries, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia.  Also, an excellent cardio class.

This class can be formatted for all levels. Work on the part of lap swimming you feel you need to work on that day be it rotary breathing, flip turns or siting for triathlon training.

Paddle Boarding is becoming one of the fastest growing water sports in the country. This great outdoor activity is not only easy to learn, but also stimulates the mind and body. If you're looking for an amazing full body workout, look no further. These types of classes are highly regarded as one of the best core, strength training and balance workouts you can perform. Some of our Paddle Board instructors are Yoga certified and they may choose to incorporate some various Yoga poses into the class. Other instructors who are not Yoga certified may choose to practice more traditional strength exercises on the board such as squats, lunges, push ups & sit ups. Our biggest suggestion to you is to come try out different classes and figure out what you like!

The focus is to help improve mobility and pain by strengthening muscles and improving joint flexibility and range of motion. Exercises are performed in water depth that is comfortable and allows you to maintain balance while exercising.

This shallow water class, co-developed with Arthritis Foundation and the YMCA of the USA, is designed for those living with the challenges of arthritis. Water Arthritis Plus consists of more intense endurance-building and muscle-strengthening exercises than the Water Arthritis class. The focus is to help improve mobility and pain by strengthening muscles and improving joint flexibility and range of motion. Exercises are performed in water depth that is comfortable and allows you to maintain balance while exercising.

This high-intensity class incorporates an overall body workout with a variety of cardio and strength training techniques while alternating lap swimming with strength training. Base fitness level required.

Medium Intensity
Intermediate Skill

This class combines cardiovascular training with basic  movements, power drills, and water movements using a variety of training tools, including noodles, water weights and kickboards.

This class consists of water exercises using multiple muscles and joints at the same time to improve endurance, strength, balance, posture and coordination while having fun and using pool toys.

No-impact cardio segment using the noodles to improve coordination, balance and endurance. Range of motion activities are encouraged to improve flexibility. Participants can sit on the noodles or walk with them in shallow areas. Great for beginners.

Water walking is an easy, effective, low-impact exercise. Brisk water walking can provide an excellent aerobic workout, and water provides more resistance of air, so you’re strengthening and building muscle as you water walk.
